Joining a new site can be confusing, at to help you from being confused. If any aspect of this is unclear, please feel free to PM me about it.

ONE. Naturally, the first thing you want to do, is make sure that you actually want to join this site. Now, I could lie and say that this site is great for everyone just to get new members, but the truth is this: I want active members who will be a part of a community. The best way to determine whether you want to join our site is to look at the SITE RULES and the FIFTY MOST RECENT POSTS to see if the rules of this site suit your taste, and to make sure that the level and style of roleplay does as well. If you have determined that you would like to join the site, register your account.

TWO. So, what do you do now? Well, you make a character of course! While we accept originals (provided that their family becomes part of the character list) although I strongly advise people to look at the CHARACTER LIST before making an original. The things picked out for a character on the character list are as follows: gender, age group, relationship status, first name, surname, and title.

I consider the character list fluid, and I am open to changes with almost every character. So everything about the actual character and appearence of the character you'd be adopting is up to you, UNLESS someone else has wrote about your character already in a profile. Since they were here first, you are obliged to adapt your profile around theirs to maintain some sort of continuity.

THREE. So, now you've picked your character from the canon list! What do you do now? Well, you go to the bottom of the page and reserve them. You copy the code posted there, fill it out and post in both in and out of code. Remember, if something is written in ALL CAPS to be filled out, you need to type it in ALL CAPS.

Character reservations last one week. In this week, you need to finish your character profile. If you do not, it will be sent to the graveyard and the character will revert back to being open on the canon list. HOWEVER, if you may request the admins by PM for another week to finish your profile. Keep in mind that you may only do this ONCE, and that if after two weeks in up you don't complete your profile, it's scrapped for good. If you have a particularly good excuse however, PM the admins about it and they will pass judgement on a case to case basis.

FOUR. The scary part! The application. Our applicantion is pretty straight forward and can be found HERE. You copy the code of the profile, and start a new thread in the appropriate sub-board. Make sure the title of the thread is in this format: LAST NAME, first name middle name.

There are several sections where you things out in word format, rather than just typing at random. These words that you need to change will be in ALL CAPS. When you see things in ALL CAPS, remember to type them in ALL CAPS when you care changing the information to suit your character. Also remember when writing down numbers, not to type in numerically (i.e. 15) and to type it in letters (i.e. FIFTEEN).

The main portion of the profiles say insert "three to four" or "four to five" paragraphs about your characters history and personality (feel lucky there is no appearence section!). The definition of a paragraph is open to interpretation, but my advice: write AT LEAST five good sentences per paragraph, and address most of what can be addressed. If you want to try your luck with less than that, be my guest. However, I have been told I am mean and be quite particular when it comes to profiles, and don't be surprised if I tear down your hard work and make you cry.

As a side note, I want to take this time to remind you that all profiles need an avatar and signature. I would be happy to help you in acquiring either of these.

FIVE. So, your profile is approved. What's left to do, right? Well, there are still a couple of things left, let me tell you. The most important of which is the FACE CLAIM. By now your probably thinking GOD, WILL IT EVER END!? The answer: probably not.

Also remember to check and see if residences have been claimed for your household. If not, go to the HOUSING CLAIM and claim both a London and Country residence. Some families on this list won't all live together (i.e. Drake), and if you're unsure of whether or not your character would have their own home, PM me.

If you have an original character, the CHARACTER REQUEST is required. The character request is where you tell me who all is in your character's family so that your character and their family can be added to the character list.

SIX. OH GOD, THERE'S MORE!?

No, actually. You're free to begin your roleplaying at this point! However, suggest checking out the THREAD TRACKER to see if there are any open threads you want to reply to. Also, the RELATIONSHIPS & PLOTTING BOARD is a good place to start out.

After that, it's up to you! Happy roleplaying!
